August 24, 2015

There's not a whole lot of stuff that has happened these last couple days since Wednesday, so i don't really have a lot to say that way, i did have a good time doing service for two different people on Saturday.. we got to shovel horse crap four a couple hours then i had to by myself shovel it out of the truck to the garden while my companion tried to fix the wood chipper! which he did very slowly! haha but it was a good work then we had to throw hay with a bunch of kids who had never worked a day in there life so needless to say me and elder ray did all the work! Even the Brother we were throwing and stacking for didn't know how to stack hay! i thought that was so funny!😂😂 and transfers were crazy!! lots of new stuff for missionary around me! doubling out and changing areas and lots of unhappy missionary! haha its kinda funny but I'm thankful I'm still here in Circleville! And still have a car.

This week I pondered and studied the talk “Hope Ya Know, We Had a Hard Time” by Elder Quentin L. Cook in the October 2008 general conference!

Some of the key parts are!  "One of the essential doctrines illuminated by the Restoration is that there must be opposition in all things for righteousness to be brought to pass."

Elder Harold B. Lee taught, “Sometimes the things that are best for us and the things that bring eternal rewards seem at the moment to be the most bitter, and the things forbidden are ofttimes the things which seem to be the more desirable.”

Elder Neal A. Maxwell explained, “The sharp, side-by-side contrast of the sweet and the bitter is essential until the very end of this brief, mortal experience.”

The scriptures and modern prophets have made it clear that there will be lean years and plentiful years. The Lord expects us to be prepared for many of the challenges that come. He proclaims, “If ye are prepared ye shall not fear.” D&C 38:30

This time on earth is not supposed to be easy! our heavenly father is going to test and try us to our breaking point and its all about growth! going thought this life without having some hard times, will make it hard to learn and we must sometime be brought down so that our lord and savior can bring us up! so that we may know that he is the
only way to get thought this life! he and he alone is our ticket to eternal life and thought him we can have true happiness, and know that he will give us strength in our weak times!

Hope everyone had a good week and can wait to hear from some of you!

LOVE, ELDER LEAVITT ❤️
