September 16, 2015

So as I thought about what to say this week to try and bring the
spirit in this email.. my mind thinks of a lot of little things I have
learned just this week! for starts before I get into all the spiritual
stuff! haha I want to tell you guys that I didn't get this out on
Monday because of the temple day today! which is P day!

I love the spirit that you can feel as a missionary on a daily
basics, me and Elder Carroll have started to listen to conference
talks and BYU devotionals. I love to listen to the words of the
general authority's and to the prophets, President Monson as well as
the past presidents of the church! the words they speak! apply as well
as then, as they do now! it is as if Christ himself is talking to us..
there is a great spirit that comes with listening and doing "your
best" to apply what they say to your lifes.

In a talk By Elder D. Todd Christofferson he talks about what god had
in mind for us! he says "It is His plan and His will that we have the
principal decision-making role in our own life’s drama. God will not
live our lives for us nor control us as if we were His puppets, as
Lucifer once proposed to do. Nor will His prophets accept the role of
“puppet master” in God’s place. Brigham Young stated: “I do not wish
any Latter Day Saint in this world, nor in heaven, to be satisfied
with anything I do, unless the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ,--the
spirit of revelation, makes them satisfied. I wish them to know for
themselves and understand for themselves.”" this is out of the October
2014 conference its called "Free Forever, to Act for Themselves" its a
great talk about I invite you all to listen to it!

One more of my favorites is a talk by Gordon B. Hinckley well he was
an apostle called "What Will the Church Do for You, a Man?" in the
April 1972 conference! He says "membership in the Church and active
participation therein will give a new dimension to your life, a
spiritual dimension that will become as a rock of faith, with an
endowment of authority to speak in the name of God.
In the opening of this work, in this dispensation of time, the Lord
declared one of the purposes of the restoration of the gospel to be
“that every man might speak in the name of God the Lord, even the
Savior of the world.” (D&C 1:20.)
Blessed is the man who prays with the assurance that prayers are
heard and answered. Blessed is the man whose companion is the Holy
Spirit. Blessed is the man who possesses the authority to speak in the
name of God."

These are the two I want you guys to read! please read and let the
lord teach you what he wants you to hear!

I love this gospel it does more good for people than anything else on
earth! it is the only true church and you will come to know it for
yourself as you study and pray about it! it is important to understand
this for yourself, the world continues to say that god "doesn't
matter" or religion is whatever you think fits you best! which isn't
true! god expects us to live the principles and commandments he has
set for us! keep in mind no one is perfect! he ask for our "best" and
we all know what that looks and feels like! That's the beauty of what
Christ did for us!

love you all! and have a great day/week! here are some pics!
